How I Work
My specialty and methodology as a product leader
Every product I've led has taught me something — about how organizations operate, how people communicate, and how to turn ambiguity into delivery. These ten principles are the craft I've built along the way.
Understanding How Organizations Work
Rooted in enterprise information management, I have deep exposure to how organizations actually operate — their document flows, approval hierarchies, routing rules, and compliance processes. I've read and crafted many case studies describing how software helps companies achieve efficiency, accuracy, and monetary savings.
Designing Enterprise Software from Scratch
Experienced in conceptualizing and building enterprise systems from a blank canvas — defining business rules, data models, system integrations, and governance controls from the ground up.
Discovery & Requirements
When the ask is vague, I plan and conduct discovery from scratch — diving into the details through elicitation, stakeholder interviews, and process observation to turn ambiguous requests into concrete, metric-measurable outcomes.
Persona Identification & Journey Mapping
I identify distinct user personas across complex stakeholder landscapes and map their journeys end to end — understanding how different users interact with the same system in fundamentally different ways.
Diagrams as Communication
I use flow diagrams, user journey maps, and process visualizations as a primary way of communicating requirements — making complex logic visible and reviewable before a single line of code is written.
Exhaustive Flow Coverage
Meticulous about mapping happy paths, alternate flows, and exception flows — exhaustive in exploring permutations, variations, and edge cases. This thoroughness ensures requirements are complete before they reach engineering.
Cross-Platform Experience
Product experience spanning web, iOS, Android, tablet, and set-top/connected device platforms — I understand the unique constraints and design considerations of each.
Delivery Rigor
I monitor delivery speed, sprint goals vs. actual completion, and track progress with precision. I factor dependencies, resource capacity, and risk into PI planning and roadmap planning.
Strategic Prioritization
Outcome-oriented, measurement-focused, and hypothesis-driven. I tie features to metrics, ensure strategic alignment with organizational goals, and craft roadmaps where the highest-impact work ships first — so every investment delivers a measurable return as early as possible.
Process Improvement & Automation
Dedicated to helping businesses improve their processes and achieve automation — whether or not AI is involved. Consistently focused on eliminating inefficiency and systematizing the ad hoc.
